Experience
Karol has been in clinical practice since 1993. Prior to that, she was a lay counselor at the Crisis Pregnancy Center and Cottesmore Nursing Home. She has given workshops on “Healing the Feminine Heart” and Eating Disorders, and is trained as an eating disorder specialist. She enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families.
Approach
Karol’s therapy style is an active one that involves role-playing, journaling, homework, and at times, gentle confrontation. She is also empathic, reflective, and supportive. Karol uses cognitive behavioral therapy with psychodynamic investigation. When appropriate, scripture and prayer are incorporated into the session.
Biographical Information
Karol has been married for 35 years and is the mother of two young adults, a daughter and a son. Prior to her counseling career, she worked at Tacoma General Hospital as a medical technologist and lay counselor.
